We’ve used Equiddoc for years for our 4 horses, who are now quite old, and I can’t imagine using anyone else. The team is so kind, reasonable, and knowledgeable.

I have been very satisfied with Equiddoc for the past 5 years of owning my mare, but yesterday’s vaccine appointment is finally prompting me to leave a review. My horse is fractious around needles and usually requires at least dorm for shots, or IV sedation. Dr. Liz took the time yesterday to desensitize first her presence, then the numbing cream, then the syringe using R+ before giving my mare the calmest shot of her life (sedated or otherwise). I could have cried. I am so grateful for Dr. Liz’s patience in making this a positive experience for all involved. Dr. Caitlin and Dr. Lanie are wonderful, as well. Highly recommend this team!!

They are quick, professional, and reasonably priced. My goat had eaten a toxic weed and was severely sick. 30 minutes after calling EquidDoc, Dr. Liz arrived and saved my poor goat’s life. She took her time to do things right, was thorough, answered all my questions, and followed up via email later that day. Thank you, Dr. Liz!

Dr. Eaton treated my sick goat. She arrived at my house within 2 hours of my call (she was at another call when I called her) She was compassionate, kind to my goat, and very thorough, explaining everything to me as she went through her exam. I will recommend Equidoc Vet Service to people in the future!

Had a horse that fell while running, slamming his shoulder into the ground. When he got up I was sure he broke his leg or his shoulder. I called 5 vets they were the first and only one to return my call. They were out in 40 minutes. Great service, will be switching vet services for my large animals after this experience.

The purchase of your next prospect, athlete, and companion is a big decision. EquidDoc recommends a thorough pre-purchase examination to help you make an educated decision about a purchase. While a pre-purchase examination cannot predict or guarantee a horse’s future, it does provide you with knowledge of pre-existing problems or medical conditions helping you plan for medical and performance needs.

EquidDoc’s Grazing Clock

This diagram is a great reminder to be aware of the sugar content in grass, especially for any metabolic or PPID horses!

• Sugar content is at its lowest early in the morning (between 2:00-10:00 AM) before sunlight raises the carbohydrates in the grass.
• In the spring, grass stores more sugar due to the warm days & cool nights. This means spring grasses can be very dangerous for some horses because the non-structural carbohydrate (NSC) content is too high for free-choice grazing to be safe. This increases the risk for laminitis and founder.
• If you have a metabolic or a PPID horse, it is best to take away or limit grass substantially in this weather.

If you have any questions on how to understand or manage this better, don’t hesitate to call us or send us an email!
