Preventative Medicine
EquidDoc offers on-your farm routine veterinary services across Central Massachusetts, Metro West and beyond. Our equine veterinarians collaborate with you, the owner and trainer, to ensure that your horse is at peak performance and health. Annual health evaluations identify abnormalities before they lead to bigger problems. These evaluations include annual health check-up, vaccinations, targeted deworming, dentistry, and bloodwork, including Coggins testing.
Laboratory Diagnostics
At EquidDoc, we work with a variety of laboratories to provide diagnostics, from basic health care screening to infectious and metabolic disease testing, using the lab that will deliver the best and most timely results. Digital Coggins tests and health certificates provide convenient access to documents when you are on the go with your horse!
Parasite Management
Parasite management involves a comprehensive approach to targeted deworming by determining fecal egg counts and practicing pasture management. At EquidDoc, our veterinarians recommend twice-yearly fecal egg counts (early fall and early spring) to determine if your horse needs to be dewormed and will recommend the most appropriate dewormer based on the parasites detected.
Gastrointestinal parasites have developed (and are continuing to develop) resistance to deworming drugs. The EquidDoc team will help you create the best targeted deworming and pasture management plan for your farm to help ensure the lowest impact of parasites possible.
