Internal Medicine Diagnosis & Treatment
At EquidDoc, we have the experience and tools to address more complex medical cases on your farm. We perform specialty bloodwork, thoracic ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound. We routinely consult with renowned internal medicine specialists on complex cases and have excellent working relationships with all local hospitals, should your horse require hospitalization.
If hospitalized, we work with the specialists in charge of your horse to provide a seamless transition from hospital management to the support and aftercare required back home on the farm.
Ophthalmology
Our veterinarians take eye care seriously. EquidDoc recommends prompt care for any ocular abnormalities including squinting, tearing, cloudiness and spookiness! We are equipped to provide complete eye care on the farm, and work in close collaboration with boarded veterinary ophthalmologists in our area. Together we can make sure your horse gets prompt diagnosis and treatment whether on the farm, or at a local hospital, and continuity of care upon their return home.
Geriatric Medicine
EquidDoc understands the special needs of our geriatric patients, and we provide individualized care to keep them healthy and happy for as long as possible, while keeping quality of life in mind. EquidDoc provides comprehensive nutrition evaluations and dental care tailored to maintain a comfortable and functional mouth and healthy weight. We offer routine testing for Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID, aka Equine Cushing’s Disease) and Insulin Dysregulation. We will work creatively with you and your horse care team to manage progressive joint disease and osteoarthritis with the goal of keeping your beloved companion comfortable for as long as possible.
